Beat Mugglin, Lucerne University of Applied Science, on Sabbatical in Boston
Professor Beat Mugglin, Vice Dean School of Engeneering and Architecture, currently on sabbatical from Lucerne University of Applied Science, visited partner institutions from Washington to Chicago as well as built up new relationships with potential partner universities in the Boston area. From September 28 to October 1st, 2009 swissnex Boston introduced Professor Mugglin to Jean-Pierre Kuilboer, among other collegues from the College of Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston, to Ted Landsmark, President of the Boston Architectural College (BAC), Mark Pasnik, Assistant Professor of Architecture and John Ellis Associate Head of the Department of Architecture, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Nader Asgary, Department of Management at Bentley University.
Besides visiting the different campuses with its very different profiles, Prof. Mugglin was also able to meet and discuss with interesting guests at swissnex like, Jerry Schaufeld (WPI), Michael Lawson, Associate Dean, Information Systems Department BU or Ole Fischer, Research Fellow at the Graduate School of Design Harvard University.
The three days in Boston not only gave a good overview about the academic and educational landscape in Boston, but also valuable contacts for his faculty back home in Lucerne, Switzerland.
