Consular Conference 2011 @swissnexboston
Arriving from Charlotte, Houston, Las Vegas, California and Hawaii, to name a few, Swiss Consuls and Honorary Consuls from all over the US gathered for the Annual Consular Conference in Boston. On Sunday, September 18th, swissnex Boston kicked things off with a Harvard Tour guided by three Swiss students and a welcome reception at the Harvard Faculty Club.
The Conference continued on Monday morning with presentation from Washington, Detroit, North Carolina, Hawaii, Bern and San Francisco consuls and CH Tourismus. For the second part of the afternoon participants split up in four groups for visits to CIC, MIT Media Lab, MIT Koch Institute and Harvard Wyss Institute. A discussion on the Economic Relations between the US and Switzerland at Novartis completed the first day of an eventful conference.

Tuesday morning was dedicated to a dialogue between Helene Budliger-Artieda, Director EDA-DR, and the Consuls. The discussion was followed by some very productive breakout sessions between the General Consulates and their corresponding Honorary Consuls. A presentation by Michel Hefti of the Federal Department of Defense and Lukas Fuerrer of the Swiss Defence Office in Washington marked the end of this year’s Consular Conference.
See you all next year in Atlanta! |
