Design Talk at swissnex Boston, February 3

In connection to the exhibit Design Preis Schweiz (Design Award Switzerland), swissnex Boston hosted a Design Talk on February 3. The panel featured two guests from Switzerland, Heidi Wegener, curator of the exhibit, and Nikolaus Wyss, head of the Lucerne School of Art and Design. Gianfranco Zaccai, head and founder of Continuum, and Nathan Felde of the Art Institute Boston represented the local design community. Beate Becker, director of Design an Industry, moderated the lively and highly interesting talk. The discussion addressed issues such as the purpose and impact of design awards, national design identities and the question whether design is really able to serve as a problem-solver.
