Expert Exchange Roundtable on STROKE
Expert Exchange Roundtable on STROKE
This event is the third of a series of Expert Exchange Roundtables organized in the last few months in collaboration with the Centre for Global Dialogue of SwissRe. The driver behind each roundtable is to understand what will influence aging and longevity in a timeline of 10 to 15 years. These expert exchanges will culminate in a one-day symposium on September 9th entitled “Pushing the boundaries of longevity”.
STROKE is one of the greatest current threats to global human health and welfare. Dr. Louis Caplan, professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School and Senior Neurologist at Beth Israel, commented on prevention, new potential intervention and strategies in the treatment of ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke.
A selected audience brought together people from the academia and industry. Swissnex provided a platform for a great discussion where views and ideas have been shared on stroke prevention and rehabilitation. Many questions on stroke management arose also from people joining via videoconference from Europe and South Africa. Exchange kept ongoing after the conference at a typical Swiss breakfast buffet.
