Seven Swiss Contemporary Quilt Artists at Lowell MA, January 31

Quilt making came to Switzerland in the 1960’s as many Swiss visited the USA. The 7 Swiss artists of fabric connection included Maryline Collioud-Robert, Beatrice Lanter, Elizabeth Portmann, Ursula Kern, Ursula Koenig, Katherina Della Chiesa and Sylvia Einstein. Over 100 quilt enthusiast came together to celebrate the opening of this exhibition. The Swiss Consulate-swissnex Boston sponsored a mouthwatering Swiss style reception provided by Swiss Bakers.
The Swiss Quilt Exhibit remains open until April 18, 2009 at the New England Quilt Museum, Lowell MA. Sylvia Einstein will give a day long workshop on February 7. Ursula Kern’s lecture is scheduled for April 18.
