LIGHT – European Visions
LIGHT – European Visions
The opening of the dual art exhibit with Beatrice Dauge-Kaufmann and Katrin Grote-Baker in the evening of May 5, 2006 was very enjoyable and lively.

Béatrice Dauge-Kaufmann, a Swiss artist from Lausanne, whose paintings have been shown at SHARE in 2004 were inspired by her residency in Switzerland, France, Great Britain and New England. Katrin Grote Baker’s work is complimentary as well as distinct from Béatrice’s. Her characteristic style/vision has been affected by her stays in German, Italy and Cambridge. Their first common project sought to enlighten the audience and look at their paintings as a way of communicating between many different cultures.
Both of their canvasses were not only filled with vibrant colors and light that contributed to the warm spring evening but also with their innermost thoughts, feelings and hopes that are very inspirational.
Bridging the gap between science and arts, many local Swiss, German, French, Italian, British and American were invited to join the opening of the exhibit. The Boston Chagall String Quartet contributed to the lively, warm and nice atmosphere. With about 100 guests that were mostly new to the SHARE many connections were made. The Consulate of Switzerland/SHARE exhibits their work throughout the whole month of May.
