On New Year’s Day 2011, Nestle, one of the world’s most prolific companies, launches a most ambitious yet personalized program of value to us all.
Nestle Health Sciences takes on the challenge of “personalizing health science nutrition to prevent and treat health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s disease.”
This visionary undertaking was explained by Executive VP of Nestle and designated President and CEO of Nestle Health Science SA, Luis Cantarell, at a lunched co-hosted by swissnex Boston. Along with member of the Board Steven Hoch, the event of November 10, 2010, illuminated the challenges inherent in such a venture.
Connecting the dots in both nutritional and pharmaceutical sciences, the audience of practitioners from both fields generated invaluable inputs, sparking new ideas for which Mr. Cantarell was extremely grateful. He also answered questions on a range of topics, including frozen foods, neurological influences of specific proteins, brown fat deposits, and even the ethics of Nestle’s education mission.
