SCIENCEsuisse Opening Reception at Logan Airport, March 30
In the evening of March 30, swissnex Boston celebrated the opening of the SCIENCEsuisse exhibit at Logan Airport.
SCIENCEsuisse is an introduction to the fascinating world of science, focusing on Switzerland’s role as a center for international research. The exhibit profiles 25 outstanding researchers generating their achievements in Switzerland from a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from biology, astrophysics, robotics, and genetics to research in philosophy, economics, biblical history, and criminology. The exhibition will be in the Arrival Hall of Terminal E of Logan International Airport until June 1.
A delegation of Swiss science, government and business leaders attended the opening as well as approximately 400 invited guests. The SCIENCEsuisse opening reception featured an introductory welcome note by the Director and Consul of swissnex Boston Pascal Marmier followed by keynote speeches by State Secretary Mauro Dell’Ambrogio, Thomas J. Kinton (CEO & Executive Director of Massport, and Connie Chow (Executive Director of the Science Club for Girls in Cambridge). Beat Kästli performed the U.S and the Swiss national anthem accompanied by the pianist Claude Diallo. Afterwards the unveiling of the posters took place, unveiling the story of a successful carrier as a researcher. Young kids from the Science Club for Girls expressed their fascination with science and young Swiss talents showed the admiration to the individuals who are represented as the world leading scientists in the poster exhibit. Swiss food and drinks as well as a live band from Berklee College of Music animated the ceremony.
