Swiss National Science Foundation Breakfast, June 11
Swiss National Science Foundation Breakfast, June 11
swissnex Boston hosted a Swiss-style science breakfast with delegates of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Switzerland’s leading provider of scientific research funding that supports researchers in Switzerland and abroad. The SNSF’s president Dr. Dieter Imboden and his colleagues gave an overview of the research landscape in Switzerland and the programs and research centers they support (find presentation here). Swiss researchers sponsored by SNSF and researchers interested in the program were given the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas and inspire further developments of the funding program. The breakfast was followed by a round table, where the researchers engaged directly in a discussion with the SNSF delegates on issues such as the return to Switzerland, chances and challenges of an academic career, systemic differences between Switzerland and the U.S. and difficulties in doing research in the U.S.
