Swiss Society connects with swissnex Boston after 146 years
After 145 annual general meetings, the Swiss Society in Boston found a home for its 146th at the “official representation” of Switzerland, swissnex Boston. On March 5, 2011, Deputy Consul Andreas Rufer welcomed around 60 members, some of whom were at swissnex Boston for the first time although. Following a welcome drink of Swiss wine, sponsored by swissnex Boston, Mr. Rufer presented its mission and activities to the Swiss Society members, who showed tremendous interest in the organization and its innovative events. | ![]() |
President of the Swiss Society of Boston Christine Whitebread then announced the Board’s newest member, Marco Perucchi, who speaks three of the four official Swiss languages, making him more than qualified for the job!
The Society celebrated afterwards with the swissbakers’ famous Swiss style buffet, including delicious “pastetli” (vol-au-vent). Amid the nostalgia and camaraderie, swissnex Boston continued connecting the dots with member of the Swiss Society in what is hoped is the continuation of a long, fruitful friendship.
