Swiss touch at Harvard Law School’s International Party
On Saturday, February 12, 2011, the international students of Harvard Law School’s Master of Laws program organized their famous “International Party,” one of the most popular events on the Law School’s calendar. Students of each nation had the opportunity to promote their culture. The Japanese wore their kimonos, the French cooked crêpes and the Indians danced to Bollywood hits. For this year’s event, the Swiss and the Austrian students joined forces to present a Swiss-Austrian Table—all in red and white. Their table was one of the most sought-after attractions! With the assistance of swissnex Boston, they presented a mouthwatering selection of cheeses and bread, chocolates and Linzertorten, surrounded by Swiss and Austrian flags, posters and pictures. | ![]() |
Harvard students and staff were also able to discover the diversity and international influence of these two countries through a raffle and quiz created especially for this event. The Swiss-Austrian crew engaged with American and foreign visitors, who took the quiz and got the answers to questions they had always wanted to ask.
The event culminated in the drawing of the raffle, with prizes sponsored by swissnex Boston and the Swiss Watchmaker of Harvard Square. After such a venture, it is certain that Switzerland and Austria will never be confused again with Sweden and Australia!
