swissnex Boston connects Vaud with local partners

In true swissnex Boston fashion, seeds planted early in 2010 bore fruit before the year’s close as we connected the dots in healthcare education.
On October 28, 2010, a delegation of education experts and policy-makers led by Minister of Education and Culture in the State of Vaud Ann-Catherine Lyon signed a memorandum of understanding with the School of Nursing at Boston College (BC). Contact with the school was first made at "Inventing the Healthcare System of the Future", a swissnex Boston event on February 17, 2010, where BC School of Nursing Dean Suanne Gennaro was a feature speaker.
This was but one of the highlights of the delegation’s visit to Massachusetts. Exploring opportunities for future collaborations in education, Ms. Lyon was joined by:
Chantal Ostorero, Director General, Board of Higher Education (DGES), State of Vaud;
Biagio Tedesco, Director, DGES International Department (Board of Higher Education); and
Representatives of the University of Applied Sciences, Western Switzerland (HES-SO).
Swiss culinary art—complete with a live cooking show!—made an indelible impression on local audiences at "Swiss Quality in Higher Education: International hospitality management, art and design" on October 29, 2010. Conducted by the School of Hospitality Management in Lausanne (EHL), Director Michel Rochat was part of the delegation.
Innovative art-technology creations by the University of Art and Design in Lausanne (ECAL) were showcased at the Sunny Memories exhibit at The Laboratory at Harvard on October 29, 2010. On hand for the launch were ECAL Director Pierre Keller and Director designate Alexis Georgacopoulos.
