Swissnex connecting the dots on CSR between the University of Geneva and MIT
Dec 14, 2010 01:55 PM
On November 30, Swissnex Boston hosted a videoconference on the theme “Monitoring compliance with corporate codes of conduct” which I organized within the course “Globalization 1” (MA-level, Political Science) I am teaching at the University of Geneva. The videoconference featured two distinguished speakers, Richard Locke, Professor of Political Science and Management in the Political Science Department and the Sloan School of Management at MIT in Cambridge/MA, who runs a large-scale research project on improving labor and environmental conditions in global supply chains (more information), and Bettina Ferdman, Founder and Director of Philias, the Corporate Responsibility association in Switzerland whose mission is to promote CSR among the corporate community in Switzerland and beyond (more information). Over twenty students and several local guests made up the audience in Geneva while Swissnex Director and Consul Pascal Marmier participated and introduced Prof. Richard Locke in Boston.
