Visiting Program
From June 15 to 17 swissnex Boston hosted a delegation of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) composed of the president, Werner Inderbitzin, members of the International Affairs Unit and representatives of three institutes (Institute of Food and Beverage Innovation, School of Engineering, Institute of Applied Media Studies). The main goal of the visit was to increase the awareness for the ZHAW in the Boston area and to network and meet with potential partners in the academic and business fields. In the context of the university’s internationalization strategy, the ZHAW learned from visits to universities and specific institutes in the Boston area, such as Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Olin College, Babson College, Northeastern University, Boston University and MIT. The various discussions led to a wide range of collaborative opportunities and we look forward to strengthen all these nascent academic transatlantic links!
Reception at swissnex Boston around the topic: Universities in a Globalized World
The delegation also introduced their international activities and three of their research projects (“The new Language of Bread – Giving a staple food a revolutionary spin”; “Micro-modeling autonomous customer dynamics”;”More than words – Corporate branding and language use”) during a reception at swissnex Boston. On that occasion, they had the chance to network with more than 50 representatives of local universities in order to foster stronger ties in the Boston area and to plan several type of cooperation. This was also an occasion for swissnex Boston to welcome new members to its growing academic community.
