WEF founder Schwab brings ‘spirit of Davos’ to Boston
For years, swissnex Boston has hosted debriefs of the WEF (World Economic Forum), using experts whose first-hand experiences at the Forum allowed for in-depth analyses that had engaged swissnex audiences time after time. On April 1, 2011, we engaged those audiences even further by hosting the WEF’s founder and executive chairman Klaus Martin Schwab.
In the company of special guest Pascale Bruderer-Wyss, member and former President of the Swiss National Council, Mr. Schwab headlined a WEF Networking Evening at swissnex Boston. The event gathered guests from across the Greater Boston Area who had participated in the WEF, in the process recreating the “spirit of Davos” right here in Cambridge, MA.
Speaking during this, his first visit to swissnex Boston, Mr. Schwab expressed delight that the turnout was as diverse as it was sizable: professionals from various communities with different backgrounds. Likewise Mrs. Bruderer-Wyss, who entered the Parliament as its youngest member at age 24, captivated guests with her outstanding achievements in academia, politics and social welfare.
Over wine and hors d’oeuvres, guests discussed today’s pressing economic issues and suggested trajectories for the future of organizations such as the WEF. With Mr. Schwab and Mrs. Bruderer-Wyss in attendance, they could not have chosen a better place and time to proffer such suggestions.
