SCIENCEsuisse

March 30 - May 14, 2009
Logan Airport in Boston, MA

SCIENCEsuisse is an exhibit that showcases 25 world class researchers generating their achievements in Switzerland, and through these portraits, celebrates the amazing innovation and research capabilities of scientists from many disciplines. Thanks to the contacts we built during recent exhibits at Logan Airport (“Inventioneering Switzerland” on architecture and “etre” on human rights), SCIENCEsuisse will open at Terminal E, on March 30, 2009. The exhibition will remain on display until June 1, 2009.

The exhibit, March 30 - May 14, 2009
Based on his book and DVD (which is currently broadcasted on Swiss national TV) called SCIENCEsuisse, Lars Mueller designed this exhibit with posters and interactive pieces. Students from Harvard, MIT, Tufts and other universities will serve, every day during the entire two months, as guides and interact with the great number of visitors from all over the world. Live music and a specially designed guestbook will attract even more participants. Besides the regular traffic of travelers, high schools will be invited to visit the exhibition and get individual tours. There is no better location in Boston than Logan International Airport to reach several thousand local and international opinion leaders. Over 600'000 international travelers will transit through Terminal E during the opening period. The exhibit will both showcase outstanding Swiss personalities and the power of science, which is at the core of the Boston area’s dynamic economy. Please find more information about the scientists here.

The opening on March 30, 2009, 6.30pm
The opening date coincides with the visit of State Secretary Mauro Dell'Ambrogio, the signing of a Swiss-US agreement, and the official opening of the Consulate's Second Floor Pavilion. We are expecting several high level people from Switzerland (Ambassadors, General Consuls, parliament members, CEOs, opinion leaders) as well as representatives from the Boston area and from the State of Massachusetts. We will welcome 300-400 guests at the opening ceremony. Swiss food and wine and the singing of the national anthem together with some keynote speeches will set the stage for the two months stay of SCIENCEsuisse at Logan Airport.
Please RSVP to Thomas Buehler.

The lecture series, April/May, 2009
Scientists who are portrayed in this exhibit will have the opportunity to give lectures at 3-4 leading universities in the Greater Boston Area. Related to their field of research, we are going to organize gatherings at Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Boston University and Northeastern University. We expect to attract about 100 students and faculty members each.
