The group of researchers was composed of Stephan Bolliger, Steffen Ross, Lars Oesterhelweg, Michael Thali and Beat Kneubuehl from the Institute of Forensic Medicine. The Ig Nobel Prize is a parody of Nobel Prize given for achievements that "first make people laugh and then make them think". The ceremony takes place every year in October at Harvard University's Sanders Theater.
