Executive Masters Program in Oil and Gas
Executive Masters Program in Oil and Gas
We are pleased to report the completion of the first full cycle of the Executive Masters in Oil and Gas Leadership at the Graduate Institute in Geneva.
Mid-career participants from Kazakhstan, Georgia, Qatar, Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon, Uganda, Senegal and Switzerland benefitted from three 3-week intensive training sessions in Geneva, during which they learned from practitioners in the oil and gas industry and related fields.
The participants are now completing their theses on such self-selected subjects as the creation of a new energy hub in West Africa, standards of corporate social responsibility, and the elimination of gas flaring.
Special guest lecturers included Robert Bulstra, COO of Addax Petroleum (Sinopec Group); Liz Bossley, CEO of Consilience Energy Advisory Group; Nordine Ait-Laoussine, former oil minister in Algeria; Christine Batruch, V.P., Lundin Petroleum; and Adnan Shihab-Eldin, former acting secretary-general of OPEC, now director of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science.
Courses in Geneva were supplemented by visits to the IEA and Total (Paris), Statoil (Stavanger), OPEC and OMV (Vienna), and the largest infrastructure project in Europe, the 57-km Gotthard Base Tunnel.
Program details and faculty biographies are available here.
Applications are now open for the next cycle, scheduled to begin in May 2012.
