October 30, 2008 - Switzerland wins «War for Talent»
A joint study by German career service agency Experteer and British market research institute OMIS says Switzerland is the winner of the «War for Talent». The study was published in September and investigates national migratory movements by European top talent following the most sought-after jobs.
According to the study, Switzerland is «the European country with the greatest appeal to foreign managers». With an intra-European «net talent import» rate of 42% Switzerland boasts the highest talent influx by «international migratory movements of European top talent».
Exhibiting net talent export rates from 8-10%, France, Germany and England are strongly affected by the brain drain that takes place predominantly in industries such as Finance and Banking, Consulting and ICT. Even more top talent chose to emigrate from recent EU member states in Eastern Europe. The Netherlands, Belgium and Spain enjoy positive net talent immigration scores.
