Swiss universities rank again among the world’s best universities. The influential Times Higher Education 2008 ranking lists seven Swiss universities among the 200 leading schools. Six of the seven schools ranked even better than in the years before: ETH Zurich moved from rank 42 to 24, EPFL Lausanne from 117 to 50, the University of Geneva from 105 to 68 and the University of Zurich from 140 to 106. The Universities of Lausanne and Bern are new among the top 200 and moved from rank 217 to 161 and from 214 to 192 respectively. Also among the leading 200 is the University of Basel which is number 131 on the list.
