Helios Early Opera is a new opera company, founded by Dylan Sauerwald, Swiss-American, and Zoe Weiss, American, both in their mid-twenties. Helios Early Opera is performing our first full-length production, Marc-Antoine Charpentier's David et Jonathas. This gorgeous work, based on the biblical drama, will be presented in French with a period instrument orchestra. Originally written for the Jesuit college Louis-le-Grand in 1688, Charpentier's score is a wonderful example of the many colors and textures of French Baroque music. The opera depicts the tragic love story between David, future king of Israel and Jonathan, the doomed son of King Saul. Tickets and more information can be found on our website. We hope you'll join us for this exciting musical work and important piece of French cultural heritage."
