oikos is now inviting applications from qualified candidates for an oikos PhD Fellowship, starting in February 2009. oikos PhD Fellows receive a 3 years grant to conduct their research in the field of Sustainability Management and Economics at the University of St. Gallen, a leading European management school. The annual stipend will be CHF 36,000 (USD 35,000). Additional travel funds are available.
oikos Fellows will have the opportunity to shape international oikos projects. We therefore look for a self-starter with the ability to manage an ambitious PhD agenda while simultaneously driving international oikos projects. Interested? People searching the globe for the best place to live will likely find it in Europe, according to Mercer's annual quality of living survey. Cities on the continent dominated the top spots on the list. Zurich, Switzerland, held its No. 1 spot on the list, not budging from its top ranking in 2007. We are delighted to announce that ThinkSwiss is offering Travel Grants for Life Sciences Summer Schools hosted by four top Swiss universities. The undergraduate students will benefit from hands-on research, training and exposure to cutting-edge issues within a professional research community for up to ten weeks.
The selection of the awardees will be done by each summer school. The call for application closes March 1, 2008 for the summer school at the EPFL in cooperation with the University of Lausanne and on April 1, 2008 for the school at the University of Zurich in a joint program with the ETH Zurich.
