Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Since its early days, swissnex boston has been actively putting together discussions, programs and visits in innovation and entrepreneurship. We help Swiss researchers interested in discussing innovative ideas with their counterparts in the Boston area and work closely with entrepreneurs launching ventures around technologies developed at Swiss institutions. swissnex boston is also advising Swiss organizations and decision-makers on programs and policies to make the country more innovative and entrepreneurial.
Here are some examples of recent activities:
organization of panels showcasing Swiss technologies include the 3rd edition of a Swiss Nanotech Roadshow, a discussion on the bioinformatics industry and a look at new technologies behind the Alinghi boat (EPFL)
training of young entrepreneurs: NETS - sponsored by Gebert Ruf Stiftung and organized by Venturelab in 2006 – is a 2-week training and networking program in the Boston area for promising entrepreneurs, including 4 days at Babson College.
supporting Swiss entrepreneurs interested in the US market: assistance program in partnership with CTI startups to help label companies find partners and contacts in the US.
advising Swiss decision makers on their initiatives in innovation: report for EPFL’s innovation group about entrepreneurial activities at universities around Boston and participation to briefings/discussions in Switzerland
