Open Position: Communications Coordinator

About the Role

The Communications Coordinator is involved across all activities of swissnex Boston/New York. You will support new and ongoing communications initiatives for our social channels and various platforms and regularly create engaging content. You will work closely with the Communications Team and all swissnex staff and will play a key role in many projects including events, exhibitions, workshops, etc. 

General Communications

  • Support, develop and implement the overarching swissnex communications strategies 
  • Create visual content for our activities (event promotional visuals, programs, badges)
  • Create, edit and publish short videos 
  • Take photos at events as required. Edit photos as needed
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Social Media Management

  • Daily management of social media channels to engage and inform our community of activities in Boston & NYC
  • Develop content for social media channels 
  • Live event coverage on Instagram stories and/or Twitter as required


  • In conjunction with the overall communications strategy, develop and execute long-form content for the swissnex Boston and New York websites

What we're looking for

  • BA/BSc degree in communications or relevant field
  • English spoken at an idiomatic level required; big plus if you also speak French and/or German and/or Italian
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
  • Able to turn a To-Do list into a Ta-Da list 
  • Fluency in social media management platforms and graphic design programs (Photoshop, LinkedIn, Twitter, FB)
  • Experience editing and produce video/photography
  • High degree of personal accountability, resourceful problem solver with a DIY approach
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Serious attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
  • Able to thrive in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment
