This exhibit showcases the entries from the Cuckoo Poster Design Contest from earlier this year. Entrants were encouraged to design a poster inspired by the “24 Hours in the Life of a Swiss Cuckoo Clock” exhibition, which featured works by students, alumni, and faculty at HEAD Geneva. Each of the 24 pieces was a re-imagining of the traditional Swiss cuckoo clock.
Students and professionals alike submitted their best efforts. Upon the deadline we had received some really wonderful entries, judged by our all star jury: Professor Christopher Pullman, Yale University; Professor Elizabeth Resnick, Massachusetts College of Art and Design; Professor Franz Werner, Rhode Island School of Design; Professor Thomas Starr, Northeastern University; and a Popular Vote, through Facebook.
Ben Keel’s design emerged as winner, and as part of his prize he was sent to Switzerland to visit four Swiss Art + Design schools. Thanks again to SWISS and Rail Europe, for sponsoring Ben’s trip, and the universities that hosted him. Read about his adventures here.
Tonight is a chance to celebrate all the wonderful entries; they will be on display at Northeastern’s Spark Gallery. Join us!
