Speakers

From Wolf Greenfield:

Emily Gardel focuses her practice on patent prosecution in areas where electronic devices and software overlap with biotechnology. She has worked with technologies related to healthcare IT, medical devices, biosensors, diagnostic devices and software, bioinformatics, and data processing, including technologies implementing machine learning.  She has extensive experience handling prosecution matters on these technologies, advising clients on all aspects of IP strategy and portfolio development both in the United States and abroad.

Amanda Slade focuses her practice on a wide variety of trademark issues, including federal litigation, trademark prosecution, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings, and trademark investigation and enforcement. Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield, Amanda served as a law clerk for the Senate Judiciary Committee Minority Office in Washington, D.C., where she concentrated on constitutional law, matters concerning the USPTO, privacy, and data breach notification issues, immigration policy, criminal justice issues, and judicial nominations.

Andrew (A.J.) Tibbetts represents clients in industries ranging from financial services and mobile applications to speech recognition, machine learning, operating systems, networking and telecommunications (including 3G and 4G cellular standard technologies, and wireless LAN technologies), big data analytics, and more. He counsels clients on IP best practices, navigating acquisitions, transactions including licensing, patent litigation, and challenging validity of patents at the Patent Office through post-grant proceedings. While he works with multiple international and publicly-traded companies, he devotes part of his practice to counseling small and growing companies on IP strategies that will help them achieve their own unique business goals.
