October 17, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm America/New York (UTC-05:00)

Healthcare insurance typically operates on a pay-for-activity basis where providers, along with drug and device manufacturers, receive payment for providing a product or service regardless of the outcome. But the US and other countries are exploring a switch to value-based care whereby only effective treatments will be paid for by insurance providers.

What are the effects of such a switch for the design of drugs and devices, clinical trials? What impact will this have on emerging medicine and medtech startups? How will stakeholders measure success, process data and build new systems – and what might be the impact in terms of the quality and quantity of healthcare options?

Panelists will explore these questions and discuss their experiences implementing value-based practices on October 17.

Presented by swissnex Boston and four.
